BRIEF
While working at Glenn College, I identified a gap in how students accessed their classes and interacted with educational materials. I proposed and initiated the design of a dedicated e-learning app to enhance the student experience. Recognizing the diverse user base, I focused specifically on the preferences of Gen Z students, who represented the majority of our users. The goal was to create an intuitive, engaging, and efficient interface that aligned with their expectations and behaviors. My research involved studying Gen Z preferences through articles, reports, and online platforms to ensure the app resonated with their needs.
WHAT WE DID
• Wireframes: I conceptualized the app’s layout and structure, creating low-fidelity wireframes to map out the user journey.
• Design System: Developed a cohesive design system, including typography, color palettes, components, and interaction patterns, to ensure consistency and scalability.
• User Flow: Designed a seamless user flow, simplifying navigation and reducing friction in accessing classes, assignments, and resources.
• Research and Testing: Conducted extensive research to understand the habits and preferences of Gen Z users, incorporating findings into the app design.
• UI/UX Design: Independently handled the end-to-end design process, from initial sketches to high-fidelity mockups and prototypes.
RESULT
The app design received positive feedback from students and faculty for its intuitive interface and user-centric features. The integration of Gen Z preferences in the design was particularly appreciated, making the app not only functional but also visually appealing and engaging for its primary users. This project demonstrated my ability to independently conceptualize, research, and execute a complex design project while aligning with the institution’s educational goals.
